Welcome to PraiseWorks!

PraiseWorks is an incredible opportunity for students to gather to worship, learn about worship, and to gain skills for leading worship. Our goal is to equip students with hands-on experiences and to give them a place to discover and develop their passion and their God-given abilities. Students can choose tracks in leadership, music theory, photography, drama, song writing, voice, piano, guitar, drums and more!

PraiseWorks is for 7th-12 graders or students completing 6th grade, if they are included in your student ministry.

What is PraiseWorks?

PraiseWorks has proven to be one of the most innovative youth worship events, equipping future worship leaders with hands-on knowledge and giving them a place to discover and develop their God-given abilities. In the past years, this week-long event on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University has hosted some of the best and brightest as they connected with friends and learned what it means to worship.

PraiseWorks is planned as a ministry of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, as a result of the Cooperative Program.

The Cooperative Program was launched in 1925 in order for Southern Baptists to pool their resources for the purpose of advancing God's Kingdom. The Cooperative Program is a scriptural, spiritual plan from God that helps Southern Baptists combine their resources to carry out the Great Commission. It enables us to do more together than we could ever do separately. It is our way of joining hands and hearts to support missions and ministry in our state, the nation, and the world.

We work cooperatively to bring the lost to Christ, to minister to those in need, and to train those called to serve. Out of gratitude and obedience to God for what He has done, each person/family commits to give a tithe or portion of their income to the church. After that, the church then decides what percentage of those undesignated receipts (tithes & offerings) to send to the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. The Arkansas Baptist State Convention in its annual meeting decides how much will be used for missions, ministry, and education in the state and how much to forward to the Southern Baptist Convention for use primarily in international missions, national missions, and for the training of Christian ministers and missionaries in our seminaries.

Music and Song

PraiseWorks offers a variety of opportunities for students to worship and develop their talents and skills through orchestra and choir. Our orchestra is made up of a wide variety of instruments, allowing all students with orchestra or band experience to participate.

Creative Arts

Worship through drama, interpretive movement, photography, technical skills, and other areas are a focus for PraiseWorks! We desire to equip students in these non-musical areas so they can use their talents and abilities to serve God in the way God has gifted them.

Disciple Making

We desire to see God glorified through the worship of the Body in the local church, to see lives changed, and for individuals to grow in the fullness of their relationship God, experiencing Him more deeply. Disciple making is not just a calling, it's our passion.
